Outline Level Shading

Outline level shading can help you make your schedule more presentable.  It's easy to set up and when the automatically apply option is on, the task shading will take effect as you change your schedule. 
  
Here are a few examples:

 
In addition to being able to set the shading of each outline level, it's possible to set the font style (bold, italic, underline). 

   
It's also possible to set the text color.  Levels 1 and 2 have white text.

 
How To Set Up Outline Level Shading:
1. Choose the Format tab.
  2. In the Gridlines section choose Gridlines, Shading, Font Sizes by Outline Level.  (The Outline Level Properties box appears.)
3. Set the Gridlines, Shading and Text attributes for level 1.
4. Repeat step 2 for other outline levels you want to set.
5. Check on the Automatically Apply....  option if you want your settings to be applied when you change a task's outline level.
