Headings

| Date headings .... they appear above the
schedule area and there are quite a few to choose from. End of
story. Right? Not necessarily! Learn how to master the
date headings and you have mastered a key component of your Milestones
schedule. Read on. |

HOW
TO SET THE START AND END DATES FOR THE SCHEDULE:

Starting Date and Ending Date or use the
calendar icons to pick the dates. |

choose up to four date headings for your schedule. |

- Milestones
software supports dates from the year 100 CE (A.D.) through the year
7000 CE (A.D.). For dates outside this range, use
custom headings.

Headings can be above the schedule, below
the schedule (or both)
|
| |
| You have the option to place
the date headings at the top, the bottom, or both the top and bottom of
your schedule. By default, Milestones Professional places the date
headings at the top of your schedule. To change the date heading placement: |

Choose the heading Levels appropriate to
your schedule.

Show at
Top and/or Show at Bottom. |

headings both at the top of the schedule and at the bottom: |

Change the appearance of the Date Headings:

To
color and add special effects to the Date Headings: |

Under
Back Color,
click the Press to Set
button appropriate to the heading level to be
colored. The Date Heading
Background
Color dialog box will appear. |

Change button
for Background Color. |

Choose a
displayed color from the
Color dialog box, or click on the
Define Custom Colors
button and define your own Custom Color. |

For
Define Custom Colors,
once you define the color, click
Add to Custom Colors. |

Click the
Change button
for Effects Target Color
choices, make a color selection, and click
OK. |

Scroll the
Special Effects
box to choose the type of gradient fill you want for the
heading. The Background
Color will fade into the
Effects Target Color. |

Change
the font style/size and/or color:

With the arrow tool, click once on the heading you want to
change. |

In the
toolbar, select the color, font, and other attributes (Bold,
Italic, Size). |

| Scroll Horizontally through your
schedule by time period |
|
|
| |
You can scroll through your
schedule by any number of days so that you have a “sliding” time window.
Simply press the Scroll the Date Range Behind
and Scroll the Date Range Ahead
buttons on the toolbar.For example, set the number of "days to
scroll by" to 30 to scroll a month at a time; or to 7 to scroll a week
at a time. When you scroll, the starting and ending date of your
schedule is changed by the number of days you specify.

Remove a date heading
|

Under Date
Heading Type, for the heading you want to remove, scroll
through the list until "None" is selected. It
is the first entry in the list. |
