| Date headings .... they appear above the
schedule area and there are quite a few to choose from. End of
story. Right? Not necessarily! Learn how to master the
date headings and you have mastered a key component of your Milestones
schedule. Read on. |

to set the start and end dates for theschedule:

Click the Dates
tab.

In the Start and End
Dates section use the Calendar icons to change the dates.

to set up the Date Headings:

Click directly on the
headings.

The Toolbar will
change to the Selection tab Current Object: Date
Heading. All options for headings are now available.

|

of Headings:

| Calendar years, quarters and
months |
|

| Fiscal years, quarters and

Custom Headings extend
flexibility (Milestones Professional and Project Companion):

- Milestones
software supports dates from the year 100 CE (A.D.) through the year
7000 CE (A.D.). For dates outside this range, use
custom headings.
|
|
Headings can be above the schedule, below
the schedule (or both):
|
| |
| You have the option to place
the date headings at the top, the bottom, or both the top and bottom of
your schedule. By default, Milestones Professional places the date
headings at the top of your schedule. |
| |
| To change the date heading placement: |

Click directly on the
headings.
-
The Toolbar will
change to the Selection tab Current Object: Date
Heading in the Date Headings section check on Show at
top and/or Show at bottom.

headings both at the top of the schedule and at the bottom: |

Change the appearance of the Date Headings:

color and add special effects to the Date Headings: |

headings.

In the Background section
choose a background color for each heading.

In the Effects section
choose the fade effect for each heading.

In the Target Color section
choose the target color for the fade effect for each heading.

| Change the font style/size and /or

In the Date Headings section
choose the font color, Font type, Font Size for each heading.

Scroll Horizontally through your
schedule by time period:
|
| You can scroll through your
schedule by any number of days so that you have a “sliding” time window. |

Click the
Dates tab.

In the
Date Range Tools section, choose Shift displayed range backward.**

In the
Date Range Tools section choose Shift displayed range forward.**
**
Shift+PageUp and Shift+PageDown can be used instead |
| By default the days to shift
is 7 |

| Change the days to shift. |

Click the
Dates tab.
-
In the
Start and End Dates
section click the Full Dialog icon
.

Click the
Yearly/Monthly tab.
-
Under Calendar Range
Scrolling, enter a value for Working days to scroll with Shift+PageUp/PageDn.
-
Enter a number of days.

Remove a date heading:
|

Click directly on the
headings.
-
The Toolbar will
change to the Selection tab Current Object: Date
Heading.

In the Date Heading section, click
the scroll arrow for the date heading you wish to
delete.
-
Choose None.
