Manpower Planning

PROBLEM: There are only 40 hours in a typical work-week.  How does a project manager figure out where a new project will fit in?

SOLUTION: Milestones Professional's DataGraphs offer a simple way to plan and balance workloads.

BEFORE: An overworked project manager

This schedule shows one project manager's projects for a 3-month time period.  A total number of hours for each project is entered into the "ManHours" column.

Milestones Professional automatically distributes the hours over the time period of each project.  The weekly totals for all projects are then graphed in the "DataGraph" below the schedule.

Look at Jim's schedule for the fourth week of June.  Because of all the projects he has, it looks like he's overloaded.  And, he has some real "down time" coming up in early August.  Why not move some of his work over to August?

AFTER: Much less stress!

Since Jim has so many projects in June, something has got to give.  His boss, an expert at getting the most out of each of his project managers, realizes that project 5 (which will take about 3 weeks), can easily be moved to August when not much work is assigned.

When the bar moves, Milestones automatically recalculates the DataGraph and shows a much more even workload.  Download this schedule and try it!
