Dependencies


There are various methods to move parent tasks (predecessors); not all methods result in dependent tasks moving (successors). Below is a guide to when dependent tasks will move.

Dependent tasks will not move unless Dependency Mode is turned on. Thus, the examples below assume that Dependency Mode is on.

 
Dependency mode is a global setting which controls whether or not dependent symbols will move when a parent symbol moves.

It's possible to select a range of task lines and link them together in one operation.
Example:   Here is a schedule with 7 independent tasks.  
  
 
To use this feature, we select the range of tasks by clicking the first one and then holding the shift key down while clicking the last task.  Next, choose Vertical Connections on the Insert menu.  This dialog box is displayed, with several options.
