More Information: Later versions of Milestones software can read all prior version files. However, if a feature in a file is not supported by a particular application, then that feature would be skipped. For example, Milestones Simplicity 2008 can read all current and prior version Milestones 2008 files, but features in a Milestones Professional file, such as a DataGraph, would be ignored by Milestones Simplicity, since Milestones Simplicity does not support the DataGraph feature.

It is the file signature (the first 5 characters of the file) that determines which Milestones read function is used, regardless of the file name extension used.
